Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80% lean)

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup beef broth (or water)

8 small taco shells (soft or hard)

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup sour cream (optional)

1 avocado, sliced (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Flavor: Stir in the minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Moisten the Mixture: Pour in the beef broth and stir well to combine. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 3-5 minutes until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the beef is well seasoned.

Warm the Taco Shells: While the beef is cooking, warm the taco shells according to package instructions (usually in the oven for about 5-7 minutes).

Assemble the Tacos: Take the warm taco shells and fill them generously with the beef mixture. Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Add Toppings: Finish each taco with a dollop of sour cream, a slice of avocado, and sprinkle with fresh cilantro if desired.

Serve: Serve immediately while they're warm, alongside your favorite sides such as rice or beans.
