Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli

1 ½ pounds fresh broccoli, cut into florets

4 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Zest from 1 lemon

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

    Prepare the Broccoli: In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure all the florets are evenly coated.

      Roast the Broccoli: Spread the broccoli mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

        Add Parmesan: After 20 minutes, remove the broccoli from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 10 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and the cheese is golden brown.

          Finish & Garnish: Once done, remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with lemon juice, and sprinkle with lemon zest and chopped parsley for freshness.
