Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil (or melted butter)

1/4 cup crushed nuts (optional, for topping)

A pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas:

    - Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into thin rounds. Arrange the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Freeze for about 2 hours or until solid.

      Make the Yogurt Mixture:

        - In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Blend until creamy and smooth. Set aside.

          Melt the Chocolate:

            - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat.

              Assemble the Twists:

                - Once the banana slices have frozen solid, take them out of the freezer. Dip each slice halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off. Then, dip the chocolate-coated side into the crushed nuts if desired.

                  Layer with Yogurt:

                    - Spread a layer of the yogurt mixture on top of the chocolate-coated banana slice. Gently press another banana slice (not coated in chocolate) on top like a sandwich. Repeat with remaining slices.

                      Freeze Again:

                        - Place the banana twists back on the baking sheet and freeze them for another hour to firm up.

                          Serve:

                            - Once frozen, take out the twists and allow them to sit at room temperature for a few minutes for easier handling. Optionally, sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt before serving. Enjoy your refreshing Frozen Yogurt Chocolate Banana Twists!
