Ingredients

1 pound chicken breast tenders

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Olive oil spray (or cooking spray)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Prepare the Breading Stations: In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. In another shallow bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Coat the Chicken: Once marinated, remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk, letting excess liquid drip off. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess, then dip into the panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere the crumbs to the chicken.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the coated chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet. For extra crispiness, lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breadcrumbs are golden and crispy. Flip the tenders halfway through the baking time to ensure they brown evenly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy your crispy chicken tenders with your favorite dipping sauce!
