Instructions

Prepare the Waffle Bowls:

    - Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

      - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

        - In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, mixing well.

          - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine.

            Cook the Waffle Bowls:

              - Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or a brush of butter.

                - Pour enough batter onto the waffle iron to cover the surface (amount will vary based on the size of your waffle iron).

                  - Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown (about 5 minutes).

                    - Remove the cooked waffles carefully, and while still warm, gently shape them into bowls by pressing them into an upside-down bowl or over a heat-safe cup. Let cool until set.

                      Prepare the Cinnamon Apples:

                        - In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

                          - Add the diced apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg (if using), and lemon juice. Stir to combine.

                            - Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the apples are slightly softened but still retain a bit of crunch. Remove from heat.

                              Assemble the Waffle Bowls:

                                - Once the waffle bowls are set, fill each bowl generously with the warm cinnamon apples.

                                  - Top with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

                                    - Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon and chopped nuts, if desired.

                                      Serve and Enjoy:

                                        - Serve immediately while warm for a delightful treat that combines crispy, fluffy waffles with the sweet, spiced goodness of cinnamon apples.
