Ingredients

1 large loaf of sourdough or Italian bread (preferably unsliced)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes for some heat

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Bread: Using a serrated knife, cut the loaf in a crisscross pattern (both vertically and horizontally) without cutting all the way through – keep the base intact for pull-apart ease.

Create the Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, stirring well to mix.

Stuff the Bread: Open the cuts in the bread slightly and generously drizzle or brush the garlic butter mixture inside each cut. Make sure to get some into each crevice for the best flavor.

Add the Cheese: Stuff the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese into the cuts of the bread, packing it in tightly. Reserve some cheese to sprinkle on top for an extra cheesy finish.

Wrap and Bake: Wrap the stuffed loaf in aluminum foil, making sure it’s tightly sealed to maintain moisture. Place it on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Unwrap and Finish Baking: Carefully unwrap the foil and sprinkle any remaining cheese on top. Return to the oven to bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with additional parsley. Serve warm and enjoy pulling apart those cheesy, garlicky pieces!
